Dr. Ben Hobbs

Dr. Hobbs graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing from East Carolina University. He then obtained his doctorate of optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, School of Optometry while working in a level one trauma intensive care unit and emergency department as a registered nurse. He furthered his training at the Birmingham Eye Foundation Low Vision Clinic and the Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Hospital. He is a member of the American Optometric Association , the North Carolina Optometric Association and the Piedmont Optometric Society.

He provides a wide range of eye care services including primary treatment and management of ocular diseases, pediatric eye care, low vision treatment and visual rehabilitation. He also performs Lasik evaluations pre and post operative catract surgery management, specialty and general contact lens and glasses correction.

His favorite hobbies include spending time with his family, mountain biking, and running. He is married to Alli Hobbs, a pediatric occupational therapist who works with children with autism and development disabilities in Charlotte, NC.

Sam R. Hobbs, OD

Dr. Sam Hobbs

Dr. Hobbs graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology from East Carolina University. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center, School of Optometry. He furthered his training at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Administration Hospital in Tuscaloosa Alabama, as well as the Atlanta Eye Surgery Group in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Association as well as the Piedmont Optometry Society.

His practice emphasizes comprehensive eye care, including glasses, contact lenses and the treatment of medical conditions of and relating to the eye. He works closely with his patient’s primary care doctors to ensure continuity of care.

His hobbies include acoustic finger style guitar and mountain biking. He is married to Jill Hobbs, who works as a senior audit manager with a local CPA firm here in Charlotte.
